\u25ba Slamming to the championship title<\/h3>\n

Thomas Kronschl\u00e4ger from the Institute of German Studies already belongs to the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me of the German science slam scene thanks to his participation in the German Championship. We are curious to see whether he will also win the title with his descriptive presentation “Entgendern nach Phettberg”. We welcome Professor <\/span>Sebastian Heimbs<\/span><\/a>. After many years in industrial research, he followed the appointment at TU Braunschweig. At the Institute of Aircraft Design and Lightweight Construction, he works on new construction methods with high-performance materials and tools for digital development, among other things, in the SE\u00b2A cluster of excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems in Wooden Construction<\/h3>\n

The Institute of Building Construction and Timber Structures and the Fraunhofer WKI have developed models to predict the overall behavior of <\/span>external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS)<\/span><\/a> in wooden construction. In the future it will be easier to integrate new components into ETICS which have already been approved and opportunities for material innovations are being created.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Invitation to a campus stroll<\/h3>\n

Stroll around the campus from the comfort of your own home and take a look inside the lecture halls. The Central Student Advisory Service has created a <\/span>360<\/span>\u00b0<\/span> tour<\/span><\/a> that offers an exciting insight not only for prospective students. The tour will be successively expanded so that you will soon be able to wander through the Botanical Garden as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our darling of this week is also a fine example of our university’s social commitment: Architecture students and staff from the Institute for Sustainable Urbanism (ISU) and the Institute for Building Climatology and Energy of Architecture (IBEA) are<\/span> helping to restore a half-timbered house<\/span><\/a>.
