\u25ba Laity self-tests arrived<\/h3>\n

The crisis management team has been busy this week with the demand assessment and distribution of the lay quick tests already announced here. The GITZ has programmed an order form and the frequently asked questions web pages have been revised. All employees who work in the university at least once a week may and should test themselves at home once a week free of charge after Easter. The first tests arrived this morning, so it’ s all set to go. All current information will shortly be available <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Research in the slipstream<\/h3>\n

The TU Braunschweig will take off with its research aircraft: In flight- and ground-based measurements in the German Bight (North Sea), the partners of the <\/span>“X-Wakes”<\/span><\/a> project will collect data on wake currents from wind turbines. The results of the will be incorporated into the planning of further expansion of offshore wind power.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Braunschweig antibody in clinical trials in the USA<\/h3>\n

The first patients with advanced tumors have been treated with a novel antibody-based in a clinical trial in the USA. It uses an invention of the TU Braunschweig: The team of Professor Stefan D\u00fcbel <\/span>discovered a human antibody<\/span><\/a> that targets tumor cells and developed it over many years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Resilience against cyber attacks<\/h3>\n

Professor <\/span>Konrad Rieck<\/span><\/a> from the Institute of System Security investigates new approaches against attacks on IT infrastructures in collaboration with supraregional colleagues in the new DFG priority program “Resilience in Networked Worlds \u2013 Mastering Errors, Overload, Attacks and the Unknown”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Using super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, Professor Christian Sieben shows how each cell copes with infections in a different way. His research group “<\/span>Nanoscale Infection Biology<\/span><\/a>” is on the trail of the causes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our darling of the week has the potential to have at least half the people in the high-rise at the Oker looking out their windows on a regular basis in the near future: The construction of the central <\/span>student house<\/span><\/a> is continuing. Everything should be ready by the start of the winter semester. We are watching with interest and keeping our fingers crossed.
