Now that the questions surrounding the “Easter rests” have been answered with great media attention, the question remains as to what will change for the TU Braunschweig in the next few days. We should soon receive a first delivery of lay rapid tests. The Presidential Board and the crisis team nevertheless recommend that people also make use of regular free rapid testing in test centres, doctors’ surgeries and pharmacies. After all, the aim is to detect infections even when there are no symptoms yet. Stay cautious!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Life cycle assessment for a hydrogen aircraft<\/h3>\n

A conventional aircraft brought <\/span>Luisa Lindner<\/span><\/a> to her new university destination in Rhode Island. In her Master’s thesis, she is researching sustainable flying with fuel cells. She is supported by the Cluster of Excellence SE\u00b2A.<\/span><\/p>\n

Detailed knowledge of human metabolism opens the door to earlier diagnoses and effective medicines. As a bioinformatician, <\/span>Ruibing Shi<\/span><\/a> works to find the important information in thousands of molecules. With the help of machine learning, she is developing a software tool that analyses metabolic data.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Real laboratory Hagenmarkt<\/h3>\n

Three institutes of the Department of Architecture want to use the <\/span>Hagenmarkt<\/span><\/a> temporarily during the summer semester. They invite us to a place of exhibition and discussion to engage with issues of sustainability, sufficiency and resilience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our favourite of the week gets “the week” not at ten, but at two in the morning. When <\/span>Professor Michael Franz<\/span><\/a> accepted for the Humboldt Visiting Professorship at our Carolo-Wilhelmina, he didn’t think he would have to stay in California for it. Nevertheless, he went through with the lecture and oral examinations. Prof. Franz taught the course Compiler Construction online in the winter semester and now also took the oral exams online.
