Congratulations, Professor Angela Ittel, and welcome to Carolo-Wilhelmina! Last Wednesday, the Senate and the University Council unanimously elected the psychologist and science manager as President of our University. <\/span>We introduce her<\/span><\/a> (engl.), and the <\/span>Braunschweiger Zeitung<\/span><\/a> has already conducted an interview with her and published it without a paywall \u2013 particularly for us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba New chance for better pandemic response<\/h3>\n

A research team from the TU Braunschweig and the HZI reports in <\/span>Nature Communications<\/span><\/i> on the development of <\/span>antibodies against SARS-CoV-2<\/span><\/a>. The study shows how in the future active agents against emerging viruses can be rapidly generated.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Experiment of the year<\/h3>\n

An experiment conducted by the <\/span>Agnes Pockels Laboratory<\/span><\/a> that brings together the greenhouse effect and ocean acidification for students received the LernortLabor Award from the German Association of School Laboratories as the best experiment of the year. Congratulations!<\/span><\/p>\n

Securing the TU’s past in the present for the future is the task of the <\/span>University Archive<\/span><\/a>. The new head of the archive, Tanja Wolf, explains how we can contribute to this with our analog and digital records.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the internationally oriented <\/span>e-learning platform teach4waste<\/span><\/a>, the LWI’s Department of Waste and Resource Management bundles knowledge about sustainable waste management systems. What concepts of norm are contained in everyday normalities? How does something “normal” become a validated norm? The <\/span>Braunschweig Junior Scientist Lecture Series<\/span><\/a> is looking for suggestions around the norm until April 4. We are thrilled about the fresh initiative and curious about the lectures.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25ba Teacher education in times of corona<\/h3>\n

As part of the \u201cQualit\u00e4tsoffensive Lehrerbildung”, five universities shared their ideas and experiences on how to succeed in teacher education under pandemic conditions. In a joint <\/span>video<\/span><\/a>, they exemplarily present their projects.<\/span><\/p>\n
