\u25ba A new model in the wind tunnel test<\/h3>\n

Many small propellers along the wings can reduce weight, noise and energy consumption of aircraft. The CICLOP<\/a> project is investigating the interactions between propellers and wings. For experiments, a model with engines and propellers is created and tested in the wind tunnel.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Detecting stress in the cockpit<\/h3>\n

Despite all safety measures and automation processes, the crew in the aircraft cockpit can be exposed to unpredictable stress. To detect such stress situations at an early stage, the REPS<\/a> project is testing pilot monitoring devices in real commercial aircraft.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Psychology in the evening<\/h3>\n

Can social platforms like Facebook be addictive? This is the topic of the first lecture of “Psychology in the Evening” on February 3. The lecture series from the Institute of Psychology<\/a> takes place as an online format.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Of Swedish herring file and beaten vegetables<\/h3>\n

“Kapselwurf” is the name of the podcast of the DFG Priority Program “Translation Cultures of the Early Modern Period”. Three scientists from the Institute of German Studies<\/a> present their project – and some translation failures.<\/p>\n

\u25ba 300,000 euros for further development of teaching<\/h3>\n

Six “Innovative Teaching and Learning Concepts” of the “Innovation Plus<\/a>” program of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science will be funded at the TU Braunschweig in 2021\/22.<\/p>\n

Lectures and exchanges on software engineering make up the digital conference<\/a> of the Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Informatik. Free registration as a participant is still possible until January 31.<\/p>\n

\u25ba MWK EFRE promotes the fight against infectious diseases<\/h3>\n

EFRE<\/a>-Applications with “approaches to solutions for prevention, diagnosis and analysis to combat infectious diseases” can still be submitted to NBank until January 31. If you have any questions, Anne Wolff in the Research Service and European Office will support you.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Darling of the week<\/h3>\n

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, our darling of the week has been constantly making science-based pandemic response understandable. This week even in a way that children can get a picture of virology. Professor Melanie Brinkmann<\/a> showed what her work looks like in the ZDF children’s news program “logo!\u201d. A look at the No Covid strategy, which she co-authored, is also worthwhile.
