SARS-CoV-2 is far from being defeated, and so we obviously want to continue to keep the minimum distance from our nearest and dearest on campus. Starting next Monday, the distance will be one and a half meters instead of two. With yesterday’s decision, the Presidium follows the recommendations of the crisis management team. \u25ba Optimising urban mobility and logistics with Deep Learning<\/h3>\n

Junior professor Marlin Ulmer<\/a> is setting up a junior research group with 1.5 million euros. The DFG funding includes that he moves to the TU Munich for this purpose. Even though we will miss him at our university, we wish him every success with his junior research group!<\/p>\n

\u25ba New Master\u2019s program \u201cData Science\u201d<\/h3>\n

Starting winter semester 2021\/2022, the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics will launch the English-language Master’s program “Data Science<\/a>“. Currently, they prepare the accreditation of the program.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Digital expertise for companies<\/h3>\n

The model project “Digitale Kompetenzen in der Weiterbildung” aims to qualify employees of companies in rural areas for the digital age. As part of the project, the Institute for Buisness Information Systems will hold an online lecture on “Digital Transformation<\/a>” on September 8.<\/p>\n
