\u25ba Ground-breaking ceremony for the ZeBra<\/strong><\/h3>\n

With two meters distance and shovel, the ground-breaking ceremony for the ZeBra was officially held on Tuesday. The aim of the centre for fire research<\/a>, unique in Europe, is to make innovative construction methods and products of the energy turnaround safer. The large-scale equipment, including several large calorimeters, can be used to investigate the fire behaviour and hazard potential of resource-saving and environmentally compatible products.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Searching for an antibody drug against Covid 19<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Professor Stefan D\u00fcbel, Professor Michael Hust<\/a> and their team have developed neutralising antibodies against COVID-19 in the CORAT Consortium together with the biotechnology company YUMAB. On this basis, a medication for the treatment of acute COVID-19 diseases will be developed. To this end, CORAT Therapeutics GmbH has now been founded with the support of the state of Lower Saxony and a group of investors from Braunschweig.<\/p>\n

\u25baAI for Collabovid<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Collabovid” is the name of a new platform developed by students of TU Braunschweig<\/a> and TU Berlin. It will allow a better research of the numerous scientific publications on Sars-CoV-2 and Covid-19. The students focus on artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Detailed work for advanced students<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At the Institute for Particle Technology<\/a> at the TU Braunschweig, two PhD students will spend the next three years researching simulation methods for dry comminution processes. The Research Training Group Innovative Training Network (ITN) – a structured doctoral training in networks of European institutions – supports them.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Family friendliness<\/strong><\/h3>\n

… is a special concern at the TU Braunschweig. Therefore we are very pleased to have received the certificate “audit familiengerechte hochschule”<\/a> for the fifth time. It was symbolically awarded in an online event this week. The certificate itself was sent in advance.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Corona App<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Since the beginning of this week the Corona-Warn-App<\/a> of the German government is available. It is designed to help break chains of infection more quickly by alerting users when they are near Covid-19 infestations. The use of the app is voluntary. We downloaded it to our cell phones right away. But is it safe? We asked Professor Konrad Rieck from the Institute of System Security for his opinion: “The Corona Warning App is very useful and I use it by myself. Transparency and data protection were taken into account throughout the development process. This is really rare and quite impressive.”<\/p>\n

\u25ba Today\u2019s event: Digital teaching from now to the same<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Project House of the TU Braunschweig and the House of Science are using the Digital Day on June 19 as an opportunity to look at the challenges for digital teaching in universities and schools in times of the Corona crisis in an online discussion<\/a>. Starting at 5 p.m., Veronika Mayer, staff member of the project house, StudIP coordinator, Janina Becker, media pedagogue for media transformation at the Georg Eckert Institute Leibniz Institute for International Textbook Research, and Volker Ovelg\u00f6nne, school director of the Wilhelm Gymnasium Braunschweig will discuss the topic. Viewers can post their questions live during the stream on the YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Radio station on wheels<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our Darling of the week is the cycling Radio XYZ<\/a>, a project of the sandbox – selfmade campus. The team of the radio has built the small studio on a bicycle trailer and is now mobile – including coffee delivery service.
