\u25ba How Does the Anniversary Year Work?<\/h3>\n

Our university celebrates its birthday. The anniversary platform offers an up-to-date overview of all important dates and topics. Background information, dates and contacts<\/a> are now also available in the magazine. At this point, we would like to thank the wonderful Braunschweig Cultural Heritage Foundation, which has made much of this possible.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Recommended Reading: Lower Saxony Universities in Competition<\/h3>\n

On behalf of the Conference of Universities in the Federal State of Lower Saxony, the Centre for Higher Education Development has assessed the “Competitive and disadvantageous aspects of Lower Saxony’s universities in a state comparison”<\/a>. The documentation also contains statements on the foundation model.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Commissioned for Campus Life and Sustainability<\/h3>\n

Following a positive vote by the Senate, the Executive Committee of the TU Braunschweig has confirmed or appointed two commissioners: Professor Susanne Robra-Bissantz will remain the commissioner for campus life for another two years, while Professor Wolfgang Durner, after his successful time as Vice-President for Studies and Teaching, will become the commissioner for sustainability.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Surveys, Surveys, Surveys …<\/h3>\n

Who has time to answer them all? We know the problem and therefore only bother you via this mailing list with three surveys that affect almost all of you and where your feedback is really important: Just now the one on working conditions and health<\/a>. At the beginning of the year, the strategy process was the subject of a survey and already last year the service survey of the administration has been sent around. They are all data protection-compliant and non-traceable. You can view the results on completion, both as original data sets and with a classification.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Corona Virus<\/h3>\n

The TU Braunschweig is well prepared for the further spread of the corona virus. We are in close contact with the responsible authorities and can implement our pandemic plan in case of an emergency. You too can protect yourself. If possible, refrain from travelling (business or private) and observe the hygiene rules<\/a> recommended by the company medical service.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Our Favourite of the Week: James<\/h3>\n

Our favourite innovation of the week is really hanging in the ropes and still a real eye-catcher: James, the new robot<\/a> from the Institute of Operating Systems and Computer Networks.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Personalia<\/h3>\n

The Society for Genetics has elected a new president: Professor Reinhard K\u00f6ster, Zoological Institute of the TU Braunschweig. We congratulate him warmly! And we thank no less sincerely Burkhardt Nelius, the Managing Director of iTUBS, Innovationsgesellschaft Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig mbH. He will retire on 29 February 2020. We would like to thank him for the great cooperation and are looking forward to seeing him on campus again. His successor on March 1 will be Eduard Klein, the current assistant to the management.<\/p>\n

\u25ba In the Magazine<\/h3>\n

Molds can do quite a lot. Professor Andr\u00e9 Flei\u00dfner and Professor Oded Yarden from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem are researching them together, and teaching also benefits from this. What 500 students experienced on the Computer Science Day can also be read in the magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u25ba Attention: Staff Council Elections<\/h3>\n

The staff council elections will take place on 10 and 11 March 2020! The info portal<\/a> now shows who can be elected (and even who can’t and why).<\/p>\n
