In an era where transparent, reproducible, and FAIR-aligned research is becoming essential, efficient documentation tools are no longer optional \u2014 they are foundational. This talk introduces the project eLabFTW@FDM-NDS which is embedded within the State Initiative Research Data Management Lower Saxony (FDM-NDS). It is a collaborative project between TU Braunschweig, TU Clausthal, and GWDG.<\/p>\n
Within the project, the electronic lab notebook (ELN) eLabFTW will be made centrally available in the Academic Cloud for researchers at universities in Lower Saxony, support structures will be established and trainings will be offered.<\/p>\n
eLabFTW is a powerful open-source ELN that enables structured, flexible and secure digital documentation of research data \u2014 from experiment setup and metadata to results and files. Its generic design makes it suitable across diverse research fields, supporting good data quality and fostering collaboration. The eLabFTW@FDM-NDS project focuses on providing and sustainably operating eLabFTW through the Academic Cloud on servers hosted at Technische Universit\u00e4t Braunschweig. Regular maintenance and technical support will ensure high availability,while targeted training and support will facilitate a seamless integration into research workflows. Beyond infrastructure, the project aims to cultivate a community of users in Lower Saxony \u2014 offering a discussion forum, exchange of experiences , and shared best practices \u2014 with the overarching goal of strengthening reproducibility of results, and enhancing the overall research culture.<\/p>\n
